The venue of SIGRAD2016 is Uppsala University, Campus Gotland in Visby. Visby is one of the best-preserved medieval city in Scandinavia. Since 1995, it is on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. SIGRAD2016 is organized by the Department of Game Design, Faculty of Arts, Uppsala University.

(4) Visby Airport to the Conference site

You can take taxi from the airport to the Uppsala University Campus Gotland. It takes only 10 minutes and costs around 150SEK. We recommend you to book a taxi in advance at Online Reservation System of TAXI Gotland:

(5) Ferry from Stockholm to Visby

  • 40 minutes from Stockholm Central to Nynashamn (ferry terminal) by bus.
  • 3 hours 15 minutes from Nynashamn to Visby by ferry (good experience for you)
  • Ferry terminal is close to the Uppsala University Campus Gotland, 10-minute walk.

(6) Conference room

The main conference room is E-22. The poster session will be held in the open space of the Library Café, adjacent to E-22.
The Welcome Party will be held at the Visby Museum which is a 5-minute walk from the university.
E-22 is located in the Library Café and can be accessed by the library entrance.
The university cafeteria is at the main entrance, building E (same building as the conference room).

Gotland University merged with Uppsala University at 1st, July, 2013. Since the Department of Game Design started the program in 2001, it was Sweden’s first higher education program in game design and one of the first in the world.
